My great uncle just died from cancer last friday.  We went to go visit him in the hospital and he died while we were there.  It was so sad.  A roomful of crying people.  His funeral is this sunday.  At least, they can say that he died surrounded by the people who love him and he stopped suffering.

And this girl I haven’t talked to in a very long time because we stopped being friends just texted me (and now lives in Edmonton) the other day to tell me that Doris, her landlady who she was close to was in the hospital dying of cancer.  I asked her if she was going to come down and see her.  She said she wouldn’t be able to make it in time.  I asked her if she was okay.  She answered that she was coping.  I told her if she wanted to talk about it, she could call me.

A customer comes up to me while I’m putting pins in cards and asks me where the clinic is.  I tell him we don’t have a clinic in the mall but there’s one outside.  He says he’s looking for a reproductive clinic.  I ask him what address.  He says he doesn’t know and the ad just said this mall.  I tell him that the mall has several different office towers so unless he can give me an address, I don’t know where it is.  He says ok and asks if he can have one of the pins.  I said no because we’re not giving them out.  He asks me what they are.  I tell him they’re pins that we’re going to be giving out during the Olympics.  He asks if he can have one again.

What.  The.  Fuck.  I said no the first time so why would I say yes the second time and why the fuck would you ask to be given something if you don’t even know what the fuck it is????

This is a video from Ukraine’s Got Talent.  Kseniya Simonova is doing sand animation.  It’s really cool but the subject is pretty sad.  It depicts a story of Ukraine’s sad history concerning war.  One of the comments under the video tells the story.
